France Desjardins has spent most of her career in the corporate world, including 14 years at Standard Life, first in public affairs and eventually as Vice-President, National Sales (group pension schemes and group insurance).

She has also worked in the manufacturing sector and the cultural sector, while at the same time serving on the Board of Directors of various organizations such as the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (Montreal Symphony Orchestra), the Douglas Institute Foundation and the Douglas Institute, where she acted as Vice-Chair of the Board and as Chair of the Governance, Ethics, and Human Resources Committee.

She holds a B.A. from the University of Montreal, where she also pursued Master’s level studies in literature. She also studied music at the University of Quebec in Montreal.
