ORGANIZE A FUNDRAISING EVENT

Groups of all sizes organize fundraising events throughout the year in support of the Maison du Père. It’s an enjoyable way to contribute to our mission, and one that’s readily accessible, all it takes is a bit of imagination!

Naturally, you must have first received our approval, however, as the Maison du Père has gained its community’s trust and respect over the years and wishes to maintain that relationship.

ON ROCK POUR LA MAISON DU PÈRE

Two young entertainment promoters decided to hold a benefit evening for our organization. Benoît Trottier, of Jaun Prodz, and Christian Franceschini, for part of his final internship in Community Recreation Leadership Training at Cégep du Vieux Montréal, organized an event called “On rock pour la Maison du Père” that brought together hundreds of young people at the Petit Campus last May 30. Several bands, such as Snäkeskyn Whïskey, Pork Chop Sideburns, T-Bone and Dizzygoth performed for free. In addition to raising close to $600, the organizers donated several bags of new and used clothing to the Maison du Père.

RACE

We salute the initiative of Estelle Fournier and Colin Renaud, who organized a race with around twenty friends as a fundraiser for the Maison du Père. They raised $203.20 for the men at the Maison. Thank you for this fine initiative and bravo to all the participants. The Maison du Père needs people like you to carry out its mission!

REPAS DU BONHEUR and 6 @ 8 HELD BY AJBM

Every year for the past 30 years, the Young Bar Association of Montréal (AJBM) has held its traditional supper at the Maison du Père. During the evening, judges, lawyers and other members of the legal community volunteered to serve dinner to the 300 clients present.

For several years now, the ABJM has also organized a fundraiser in support of the Maison du Père. The evening includes a silent auction, with proceeds going to our Foundation which helps men who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless

CASINO DE MOTNRÉAL DINNER

The employees of the Casino de Montréal set themselves a challenge: prepare and serve a gourmet dinner to homeless men. Thirty volunteers from the Casino’s restaurant team came to the Maison to serve the 300 men present for the event. Preparation and service were supervised by Jean-Pierre Curtat, Executive Chef at the Casino restaurants.

To add a bit of entertainment, volunteers gave an impromptu singing performance, to the delight of the guests. The Maison du Père also enjoyed the presence of the very colourful Soeur Angèle to spice up the evening
